Two men on motorbike try to steal bag from woman in her 70s as she suffers head injury
She was waiting at the bus stop late on Monday evening
by Oscar Fisher · Derbyshire LiveAn elderly woman fell to the floor and hit her head after two men tried to steal her bag while she was waiting for a bus in a Derbyshire town. The incident took place in Bath Street, Ilkeston, at around 10.15pm on Monday (October 14).
The victim, a woman in her 70s, was approached by the two men on a motorbike. One of the men tried to grab her handbag, which caused the woman to fall to the floor and hit her head.
The men then rode off. Derbyshire police have now released a statement, pleading for the public to share any information they may have regarding the ordeal. A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers investigating an attempted robbery in Ilkeston are appealing for information and witnesses.
"The incident occurred in Bath Street just before 10.15pm on Monday, October 14. We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident.
