Man found in Derwent Reservoir car park dies as police look for American tourist witness

An American tourist who found a man, who was later pronounced dead, in a north Derbyshire car park is being sought by police for more information. The man was discovered in the car park near Derwent Reservoir on Saturday, October 19.

Derbyshire police have put out the appeal and said: "The man, who was in his 40s, was found at the car park close to the Upper Derwent Visitor Centre shortly before 4.30pm. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his family have been made aware.

"The tourist left the scene before officers arrived and we are keen to speak to him as a witness. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances in relation to the death and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
