Police say multiple gunmen fired on a group of people outside on a street in the city of Birmingham.

A mass shooting involving several assailants has left at least four people dead and dozens wounded in the US state of Alabama, police said.

Two men and a woman were killed at the scene in the 2000 block of Magnolia Avenue near the University of Alabama, while a fourth victim died at the university's hospital, Birmingham Police said.
