The shop that sold this week's life-changing €7million Lotto Jackpot-winning ticket has been revealed.

Eurospar An Cheathrú Rua, located in the Gaeltacht village of Carraroe in Co Galway, was the lucky location for one Lotto player, who finds themselves €7,028,440 richer after Wednesday's draw.

The lucky winner in Galway has become the 10th Lotto Jackpot winner of the year and the county's second biggest winner so far in 2024.

Shop owner Aodán Breathneach was delighted to receive the phone call from the National Lottery, informing him of the win.

"Our shop has been a cornerstone in An Cheathrú Rua for over 50 years, across three generations," he said. "We've had some Lotto and EuroMillions wins before, but never anything this big.

"We have many regular local customers, so it's exciting to think that one of them might have had a life-changing win, although it could be anyone!

"We're so happy for the winner and hope they're already enjoying their amazing news. With a team of nearly 50 people, we're all enjoying the buzz in the shop - wins like this are rare, so we're making the most of the celebrations!"

The winning numbers in Wednesday night's main Lotto draw were 7, 10, 12, 19, 21, 32 and the bonus number was 9.

With the winner yet to come forward, the National Lottery is encouraging all players who bought tickets for Wednesday's Lotto draw in Eurospar in Carraroe to check their tickets very carefully.

The lucky winner should sign the back of their ticket and keep it somewhere safe before making contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or by emailing claims@lottery.ie to make arrangements for the collection of their prize from Lotto headquarters.
