Lotto player misses out on €2.2m jackpot by just one number but still lands huge prize

A Lotto player came agonisingly close to winning Wednesday's bumper Lotto jackpot, missing out on the €2.2 million top prize by a single number.

The punter matched five numbers plus the bonus number in last night's main Lotto draw, meaning they were just one correct number away from winning the €2,274,343 jackpot and becoming Ireland's newest millionaire.

While the player missed out on the life-changing jackpot, they still have reason to celebrate as they bagged the Match 5 + Bonus prize of €31,916.

The lucky numbers called in the Wednesday, November 27 draw were 9, 21, 23, 25, 40, and 41, and the bonus number was 27.

The €2.2 jackpot up for grabs in Wednesday's main Lotto draw went unclaimed but in total, over 60,000 players won prizes in last night's Lotto and Lotto Plus games.

The numbers called Wednesday's Lotto Plus 1 draw, where the top prize on offer was a cool €1 million, were: 7, 16, 22, 23, 24, 36 and the Bonus number was 12. The jackpot in this draw went unclaimed, although 13 people matched five correct numbers to win €500.

And in the Lotto Plus 2 draw, where a jackpot of €250,000 was up for grabs, the numbers to look out for are: 3, 4, 11, 13, 46, 47 and the Bonus number was 15. Once again the jackpot in this draw went unclaimed, with 10 players winning €250 after matching five correct numbers.

Meanwhile there were 55 winners of the Raffle Prize, with each player receiving €500. The winning raffle number was 2591.

The National Lottery is urging players across Ireland to check their tickets to see if they are among the 60,000 people who won prizes in Wednesday's Lotto and Lotto Plus games.

If you hold a winning ticket that you bought in a shop, you must claim your prize within 90 days of the applicable draw date.
