The search is on to find Ireland's newest millionaire after one lucky punter scooped Wednesday's life-changing Lotto jackpot worth over €7 million.

The Lotto jackpot had gone unclaimed for a number of weeks which meant the top prize in Wednesday night's (November 20) draw had ballooned to an incredible €7,028,440.

And one lucky player managed to match all six numbers and the bonus in last night's draw to win the life-changing sum.

The National Lottery has revealed that the jackpot winner hails from Galway, with Lotto bosses set to confirm the store location where the winning ticket was purchased on Friday (November 22).

The Tribesman winner becomes the 10th Lotto Jackpot winner of 2024, joining the ranks of nine other big winners from across the country, including Dublin (5), Louth, Wexford and Limerick (2) victor earlier this year. This latest win also makes the Galway player the 30th National Lottery millionaire of 2024.

The National Lottery is urging players in Galway to check their tickets to see if they are the winners of the €7m jackpot.

If you’re holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize. The ticketholder must claim their prize within 90 days of the applicable draw date before the winnings become null and void.

In total, over 88,000 players won prizes in Wednesday's Lotto and Lotto Plus draws. There were 64 winners of the Raffle Prize each receiving €500. The winning raffle number was 6097.
