All Blacks waiting on scan results for 'sore' Jordie Barrett

All Blacks second-five Jordie Barrett is being sent for a scan in Wellington tomorrow on his wounded left knee.

Barrett limped off during New Zealand's 31-28 Bledisloe Cup victory against Australia in Sydney on Saturday night and was unable to take the field in the second half.

All Blacks coach Scott Robertson said the team is waiting on the medical results but will look to find other options to cover at training ahead of the rematch in Wellington next weekend.

"We're ok, we've got cover. We might get a bit of training cover during the week. Just someone out of Wellington, not officially," he said.

When Robertson was asked by reporters if Barrett had sustained knee ligament damage which might take four to six weeks' recovery time, he said he would prefer to wait until they have all the information at hand.

"He's sore, scan tomorrow," Robertson told media at Sydney ahead of the team's flight back to New Zealand.

"Look it's one of those ones you have to scan to get a feel of it, and the Barretts heal pretty quickly."

Robertson said he hadn't been able to pinpoint what had caused the issue because "there was a lot going on in that game, wasn't there."

There is better news ahead for Beauden Barrett, who is recovering well from the illness which sidelined him from the test in Sydney.

"Beauden's feeling better as well. That's pretty close to all the medical updates," Robertson said.
