WATCH: Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter strikes Heisman Trophy pose after highlight-reel INT against UCF

Hunter struck the iconic pose after yet another prolific performance on offense and defense

by · CBS Sports

Colorado star Travis Hunter continues to build an argument as the most valuable player in college football, contributing the Buffs' success on both offense and defense at a high level. What he's done at both wide receiver and cornerback continues to amaze college football fans everywhere. After his latest highlight-reel interception, he struck the iconic Heisman Trophy pose.

Hunter had already made a splash in Saturday's game against UCF on offense with a touchdown reception in the first quarter. Then, as UCF was trying to make its climb back into the game, Hunter came up with up with a clutch second half interception of UCF quarterback K.J. Jefferson.

Hunter's Heisman Trophy stock has continued to rise in recent weeks as he's not only racked up an impressive snap count with his time as a wide receiver and cornerback, but backed it up with production as well. It was the second time this season Hunter has recorded a touchdown reception and an interception in the same game, making him only the second player this century to log multiple games with a receiving touchdown and an interception (Aqib Talib, 2007).

Those kind of nuggets will only continue the fuel the fire behind his Heisman Trophy campaign. Winning the Heisman Trophy as a non-quarterback requires a unique ability to separate yourself from the other contenders. Desmond Howard's Heisman Trophy season at Michigan, for example, had him contributing in multiple phases of the game at both wide receiver and special teams. Howard also, like Hunter, capped one of his highlight moments with the iconic stiff-arm pose.
