Over 400 people packed the tiny confines of the Rod and Gun Club beside Cottonwood Creek in Nelson to see 24 fighters from across the region and the U.S. spar in Fight Night 14.

Held twice a year, the card attracted fighters from Edmonton, Vancouver, Spokane, Leduc, Salmon Arm, Cranbrook and Vernon to the sanctioned event, with Nelson’s Porter Hansen the headliner.

In the 75-kilogram junior main event, Hansen stopped Haiden Van Horne of The Shadow Box (Leduc, AB) to conclude the night.

Cranbrook’s Chris Bohn lost in the heavyweight bout against Shadowbox’s Nathan Omuvwie.

A unanimous decision in the 65-kg youth bout fell to Nelson’s Torin Edmonds over Shadow Box’s Sam Sorg.

In the 76-kg elite category, Cranbrook Eagles’ Cyrus Lepsis earned a split decision over Roland Ingram of Vernon Boxing.

Graeme Jolly of the Nelson Boxing Club won his match over Shadow Box’s Cashton Hutzukal in the 73-kg elite.

Nelson Boxing Club’s Sabian Smith scored a unanimous decision over Brock Klimosko of Shadowbox in the 57-kg junior C open.

Nelson Boxing Club’s Matheus Loureiro lost his 70-kg elite match against Kai Pearson of Edmonton’s Marshall Boxing.

Cranbrook’s Edric Van Steinburg won in a split decision over Spokane Boxing’s Jamieson Healy in a 52-kg junior B bout.

Fernie Old School Boxing’s Luther Sawatzky won in a unanimous decision in his 59-kg junior bout over Jari Hirvinen of Salmon Arm’s Bulldogs Boxing.

Brogan Leslie of Cranbrook earned a split decision over Isabel McAleer of Eastside Boxing in the 73-kg elite.

Freddie Dool and Beau Mahoney were the first fight of the night (demo), while Nelson Boxing Club’s Matt Brown took on Cranbrook’s William Olson in an exhibition bout.
