Ernakulam leading in district school arts festival

Ernakulam educational sub-district raced ahead of Aluva to lead the overall point tally on the fourth day of the Ernakulam District School Arts Festival held at various venues at Kuruppampady near Perumbavoor on Thursday.

Ernakulam was leading with 806 points. Aluva was at the second place with 780 points followed by North Paravur with 722 points, according to results compiled by the organising committee around 7 p.m.

In the higher secondary school category, Vidyadhiraja Vidyabhavan, Aluva, maintained its lead position with 286 points followed by St. Teresa’s Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Ernakulam, with 218 points. St. Augustine’s Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Muvattupuzha, was at third position with 216 points.

In the upper primary (general) category, Perumbavoor educational sub-district was leading with 132 points followed by North Paravur with 127 points and Thripunithura with 108 points.

Ernakulam was leading the high school (general) category with 344 points followed by Perumbavoor with 308 points and Aluva with 288 points. Aluva was leading the higher secondary school (general) category with 352 points. Ernakulam was at the second place with 347 points and North Paravur at the third position with 329 points.

North Paravur educational sub-district was declared the winner in the Sanskrit fest (upper primary category) with 88 points. Angamaly emerged the runner-up with 84 points. In the Arabic fest (upper primary category), Muvattupuzha and Aluva were declared joint winners with 65 points each. Thripunithura was the runner-up with 63 points.
