Sheffield United and Coventry City players clashed on the pitch after Anel Ahmedhodzic sparked a huge brawl.

The Blades defender was shown a straight red card after lashing out at Norman Bassette in the closing moments of the first half. Ahmedhodzic was initially fouled by the Sky Blues striker - who had already scored for the home side - before Bassette shouted at his opponent and appeared to grab him by the back of the neck.

This prompted a furious reaction from Ahmedhidzic who proceeded to push Bassette in the throat, with players from both sides then rushing to the incident.

Referee Darren Bond eventually diffused the situation, before showing a red card to the Sheffield United player and yellow for the Coventry star.
