Arsenal learn fresh Man United decision after disappointing Chido Obi-Martin exit
by Keifer MacDonald · football.londonManchester United's promising young talent, Chido Obi-Martin, is on the brink of committing his future to the Red Devils with a professional deal.
The Danish U18 international made an impactful switch from Arsenal to Old Trafford and has since been a revelation for the U18s team with four goals in just four appearances.
He's expected to put pen to paper on a first professional contract this Friday (November 29) upon turning 17, as per reports from Denmark.
Currently, he's on scholarship terms due to UK regulations that players cannot sign professional contracts until their 17th birthday.
The Denmark youth starlet was highly regarded by his national team's U17 coach Jesper Mikkelsen, who in 2023 said: "When you look at Chido, he doesn't look like someone who hasn't turned 16 yet."
Mikkelsen also complimented his physical attributes, agility, gameplay commitment, dribbling, and challenges.
Upon signing for Manchester United in September, an elated Obi-Martin expressed his excitement on Instagram, writing: "Very happy to sign with this amazing club, time to focus and achieve all my dreams. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far.", reports the Manchester Evening News.
