Arsenal sent damning referee verdict after Mikel Arteta's red card complaints
by Matthew Abbott · football.londonArsenal fans have been told that there is no refereeing conspiracy against them, despite some supporters feeling too many officiating decisions are going against them this season.
The Gunners have received more red cards - three - than any other Premier League club this season. They are one of only three teams to have multiple red cards at this stage of the campaign, with Nottingham Forest and Southampton being the others.
Ten teams, including Liverpool and Manchester City, have yet to play with ten men in the league this season. London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have equally kept all 11 players on the pitch in their nine matches.
Jamie O'Hara, who played for the Gunners' arch rivals - Spurs - has laughed off the existence of any purported agenda against Mikel Arteta 's team. "Arsenal fans need to stop moaning; there's no referee conspiracy against them," the former player-turned-pundit told Grosvenor Sport.
"No match official is going, 'yeah, let's stitch up Arsenal'. You get some decisions, and you don't get some decisions – that is football.
"You can't argue against the red cards that they've received. By the rules, they've all been dealt with correctly.

"William Saliba's against Bournemouth was a last-man foul; Leandro Trossard kicked the ball away at the Etihad, and Declan Rice did the same against Brighton! You can't get away from that, so to say there's a conspiracy against them is nonsense.
"It might be harsh, but that's just football. Look at the penalty Manchester United conceded to West Ham last weekend. Are you telling me there's a conspiracy against United? Are United out saying there's a conspiracy against them?
"It happens every game, and it happens to every team. Get on with it, Arsenal. Just deal with it and win the game."
Mikel Arteta has acknowledged that his side have an issue with picking up too many red cards this season, but has no plans to discuss it with his squad. “Playing with 10 men, obviously there is an issue,” he said when referencing Rice and Trossard's red cards earlier this season.
“The truth is when you analyse the three very different actions and the outcome of them, the reasons are very different. Regardless of that, we cannot continue to play with 10 men, especially at this level. We need to eradicate that. It’s clear why, the reason, and how doesn’t matter. We have to focus and it has to happen.”
