'Feels very different' - Gary Neville makes Arsenal title race point after Man City vs Tottenham

Gary Neville says Manchester City's current form is giving Arsenal a 'real, real chance' of winning the Premier League.

As Premier League football returned after the November international break, Arsenal had some ground to make up on reigning champions Man City and current leaders Liverpool.

Regarding the former task, Saturday could not have gone any better. Mikel Arteta's men first downed Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium - the goals produced by Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey and Ethan Nwaneri - which was followed by North London rivals Tottenham inflicting a 4-0 defeat on Pep Guardiola's side in Manchester.

As he was providing commentary for Sky Sports on Saturday night for City's clash with Spurs, Gary Neville commented: "I’m sure Liverpool’s players, coaches, fans will be watching this - and Arsenal’s to an extent - thinking ‘we have a real, real chance here’. In the past they [Man City] were always up against it, this just feels very, very different."

The Gunners' title challenges in recent seasons have been seen off by Man City come the end of the season. Guardiola has more often than not been able to work his magic and get City over the line in the title race, though now he is without midfielder Rodri.

Against Spurs on Saturday evening, however, the gap that was left in the Spaniard's absence was exploited by Ange Postecogou's side. The hosts were also poor in attack, with Erling Haaland cutting a dejected figure on his own up front as chances were wasted.

Saturday's results reduced Arsenal's gap to Man City to just one point. If they are going to be able to grasp this title opportunity Neville has laid down, they are now going to need Liverpool to drop points too - who were six points ahead of Arsenal before facing Southampton on Sunday.
