Heidenheim vs Chelsea Conference League score predicted to see if unbeaten run continues

by · football.london

Chelsea will be looking to make it four wins from four in the Conference League later today when they take on German side FC Heidenheim.

A 2-1 win over Leicester City on the weekend continued Chelsea's impressive start to the season, with the Blues currently third in the Premier League table, just one point behind Manchester City in second. With City taking on Liverpool this weekend, Enzo Maresca's side could jump to second with a win against Aston Villa, but for now, attention turns to the Conference League, a competition the Blues have enjoyed immensely so far.

An 8-0 win over FC Noah in Chelsea's last Conference League game saw the Blues continue their winning start to the competition, with Maresca's side currently top of the table with a whopping +13 goal difference after just three games. Heidenheim have also enjoyed a 100% start to the Conference League campaign, though the German side are struggling domestically, currently sitting one place off the relegation zone in the Bundesliga.

So, can Chelsea continue their winning form in the Conference League later today? Let's take a look.

We simulated Heidenheim vs Chelsea to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that the hosts could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Muller; Traore, Mainka, Gimber, Fohrenbach; Dorsch, Maloney, Schoppner; Beck, Wanner, Honsak.

We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Jorgensen; Disasi, Tosin, Badiashile, Veiga; Fernandez, Chukwuemeka; Felix, Nkunku, Mudryk; Guiu.

Heidenheim were proving tricky opponents for Chelsea, with the hosts defending well to keep the Blues at bay in the first half. Chelsea's best chance came just before the break when a deep cross from Mykhailo Mudryk picked out Joao Felix, but the Portuguese international could only send his shot over the bar.

Maresca's side should've made it 1-0 just after the restart when Marc Guiu was played through one-on-one with the 'keeper after Enzo Fernandez spotted the Spaniard's run, but his finish was poor, and he scuffed his shot wide of the post. It was a bad miss from the 18-year-old, but he more than made up for it minutes later when he grabbed the opener.

A one-two between Christopher Nkunku and Felix saw the latter break free down the right, and he sent an early cross into the box to meet the run of Guiu. After taking the ball in his stride, the striker curled his effort into the bottom corner, giving the Blues the lead just before the hour mark.

Nicolas Jackson thought he had made it 2-0 in the 88th minute when he headed Axel Disasi's cross in at the back post with his first touch of the game, but the striker was offside, and the goal was ruled out. Heidenheim failed to trouble the Blues all evening, with Maresca's side holding out for the three points in Germany.

EA FC 25 predicted final score: Heidenheim 0-1 Chelsea
