Chelsea player ratings as Jorgensen incredible, Nkunku and Mudryk superb in Heidenheim victory
by Bobby Vincent · football.londonChelsea have continued their 100% record in the UEFA Conference League with a 2-0 win away at FC Heidenheim.
The Blues thought they had a penalty around 35 minutes in as the referee pointed to the spot after Mykhailo Mudryk went down in the box. However, the referee went over to the pitch side monitor after communication with the VAR and overturned his initial decision.
The visitors, though, did take the lead early on in the second-half with Christopher Nkunku firing past Kevin Muller to make it one-nil. Filip Jorgensen made an outstanding double save on 70 minutes to keep Heidenheim at bay. Somehow.
Late on, Mudryk doubled Chelsea's lead with a fantastic finish. Cesare Casadei was then sent off deep into stoppage time for a second yellow card.
It finished 2-0 to the visitors at Voith-Arena. Below, Bobby Vincent rates those that were out there for the Blues...
Filip Jorgensen - Big save on 25 minutes to keep out Mathias Honsak. Some more nice saves, too. A genuinely incredible double save on 70 minutes. What a performance! 9.
Axel Disasi - Too easily bypassed on occasions. Not his best showing. 5.
Tosin Adarabioyo - Solid. Comfortable. His passing was brilliant. Should score before half-time. 7.
Benoit Badiashile - Perhaps the quickest booking in European history. Solid. 6.
Renato Veiga - Basically played alongside Cesare Casadei and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in a fluid midfield trio. Neat and tidy in orchestrating the play for the Blues. 6.
Cesare Casadei - Very tidy in midfield but sent off for a second yellow right at the end. 5.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - A fierce shot just over 20 minutes in that he was unlucky not to score from. 6.
Jadon Sancho - Some neat footwork throughout. Another assist for Sancho, crossing the ball to Nkunku. And then another one to Mudryk late on. 7.
Christopher Nkunku - A bit wasteful in front of goal in the first-half - a bit uncharacteristically. But made up for it in the second period with a typically fine finish into the top corner. 8.
Mykhailo Mudryk - A truly emphatic finish late on. A good performance all round from the winger. 8.
Marc Guiu - Extremely busy early on. He had four chances in the first 10 minutes or so but failed to convert any. At least he continued to be involved. 6.
Joao Felix (on for Guiu 62') - No impact from the Portugal international. 6.
Carney Chukwuemeka (on for Nkunku 75') - N/A.
Sam Rak-Sakyi (on for Dewsbury-Hall 90') - N/A.
Tyrique George (on for Sancho 90') - N/A.
