Players and staff from Chelsea and Nottingham Forest were involved in a heated pitch-side bust-up in the closing stages of their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

With Forest down to 10 men for the final 12 minutes of that match, Chelsea pushed for what would have been the winning goal. But tempers flared when Forest's Neco Williams appeared to push Marc Cucurella into Enzo Maresca, causing the Chelsea head coach to fall to the floor.

That prompted a mass coming together of players - and staff members - from both teams. Footage of the incident has since emerged and appears to show Nicolas Jackson raise his hands towards the face of Forest's player Morato.

It has been reported that VAR did have a look at the incident in the immediate aftermath. But they decided that it did not constitute violent conduct and, as such, there was no punishment for Jackson.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Maresca also said that he felt someone trying to kick him when he was down on the floor. When asked about Jackson's involvement, he said: "Yes but also someone tried to kick me there. When I fell down, I was there like this and someone arrived."

On the flashpoint, Maresca went on: "I was just there. In my [technical] area. This is the most important thing.

"If these kinds of things happen when you're not in your area, probably people can say that; 'He was not where he should be'. At least I was in my area. It can happen. I'm okay, thank you."

Chelsea will receive a fine from the Football Association due to receiving six or more yellow cards during the game. Cautions for both Wesley Fofana and Cucurella mean that they will miss the Premier League against Liverpool after October's international break - as they were their fifth yellow cards already this season.
