Caragh reach the Leinster Intermediate final after thrilling extra-time win

Caragh have reached the AIB Leinster Club Intermediate Football Championship Final with a thrilling extra-time win over Fethard St Mogue’s.

Caragh dominated the first half of extra-time, scoring 0-3 with no reply. Two from late substitute Eoghan O’Haire and a brilliant score under pressure from Ronan Doorey were key for their side. Caragh never looked back from there and were worthy winners for their efforts throughout this game.

The Kildare side’s Leinster run looked set to come to an end deep into injury-time of the first 60 minutes as they trailed by three at 2-12 to 1-12. A long, searching ball from Cathal McKennedy was punched clear by a Mogue’s man, but was gathered by Darragh Swords and promptly laced into the corner of the net. 

Manguard Park erupted in celebration as the Kildare side equalised. Caragh even had a chance to win it with the last kick of normal time with an Eoghan O’Haire free from an albeit difficult distance.

They would do so 20 minutes later anyways.
