EuroMillions winner of £177m prize comes forward - and is now richer than Harry Styles
by PA Reporter · ChronicleLiveA UK ticket-holder has staked a claim for the hefty £177 million EuroMillions jackpot from Tuesday's draw, poised to become the third-largest National Lottery winner ever.
The lucky individual is currently undergoing the validation procedure and, if all checks out, they'll have the prize confirmed in a meeting with one of the National Lottery’s winners’ advisers.
It will be up to them to decide whether to step into the spotlight or remain anonymous. .
Allwyn’s Senior Winners’ Adviser Andy Carter said: "We are delighted that we have received a claim and will now ensure the ticket-holder gets all the support they need.
"This is a truly amazing win, and we will focus on guiding them through the process and helping them to start to enjoy their life-changing win.
"The team here has huge experience of guiding all of our lucky National Lottery winners through the first steps in their journey of embracing their win."
Should the prize be confirmed, the new millionaire would surpass celebs like ex-One Direction star Harry Styles and champ Anthony Joshua on the wealth charts, who were last estimated at £175 million each by the Sunday Times Rich List.
Meanwhile, the record for the largest EuroMillions jackpot claimed by a UK ticket-holder remains at £195 million since July 19, 2022, taken by an anonymous player.
Just shy of that record are Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester, who landed a whopping £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket in the May 10, 2022, draw, previously setting the record before the July winner.
