Struggling with stubborn stains on your shower doors?

You’re not alone – bathrooms are a hotspot for unsightly build-ups of greasy soap residue and limescale. Limescale, a remnant of evaporated water, leaves behind hard water stains that only get more challenging to erase over time.

Regular cleaning is essential to fend off mould creeping into the corners of your shower glass, but Amy Brooks, a cleaning guru from Bella Bathrooms, assures that extreme measures aren’t necessary. She’s shared an effortless way to banish tough grime from your shower door - lemon juice.

Amy advises: “Lemon is not only great at getting rid of scum and mineral deposits, but it is ideal for removing streaks from glass shower doors.” She continues: “Ideally, when using lemon, you will want to combine it with baking soda as the acid will create a reaction with the baking soda.

“This reaction will create a foam that is perfect for scrubbing down any part of the bathroom, not just your shower door.” While it may appear bizarre, the potent acidity in lemon juice makes it one of the most effective natural solutions against limescale, reports the Express.

The citric acid within effortlessly dissolves mineral deposits while its antibacterial qualities ensure your shower doors are not just clean, but sanitary. When faced with fatty blots like oil or grease, baking soda is unparalleled, which explains why it excels at washing away persistent soap smears off your shower glass.

Here's how to clean shower glass using lemon juice and baking soda. Simply mix baking soda with lemon juice until you have a thick paste.

Smear the paste all over your shower door, paying particular attention to areas with the worst stain build-up. Leave the shower door alone for at least five to 10 minutes to allow the lemon juice and baking time to break down the stains.

Don't be alarmed if it begins to fizz as it reacts to the limescale - this is perfectly normal. Once the time is up, use a sponge to gently wipe your doors and the stains should easily come off.

Rinse the shower door with clean water and quickly wipe it with a clean cloth to avoid streaky glass. Your shower glass doors should now be gleaming thanks to this simple yet incredibly effective homemade solution.
