After teasing the Vivo Y300 for a few days, the company has finally released the launch date of the phone. The Vivo Y300 is scheduled to launch on November 21, the company revealed on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, in this teaser, the company has also unveiled the design of the upcoming smartphone. The Vivo Y300 features a dual camera setup housed on a rectangular island. It also features a ring light placed right below the camera lens. Otherwise, the back panel is plain with the brand logo on the bottom.
The Vivo Y300 sports a boxy design with a metallic frame. The company has confirmed that the phone will come in three-colour options: Dark Purple, Sea Green and Grey. The company is yet to reveal the marketing names for these variants. The back panel indicates one interesting camera detail. The Vivo Y300 will feature Aura lights, for improved low-light photography.
To compare, the design language of the back panel is quite different from its predecessor, the Vivo Y200, launched last year. As the Vivo Y200 was priced at sub-Rs 20,000, we can expect a slight jump here and touching the sub- Rs 25,000 price segment.
Vivo Y300: Expected specs and features
Barring the launch date and design language, the company has kept other details under wraps. But the rumours have created a picture of the upcoming phone. Current leaks and teaser images suggest the Y300 will sport a sleek design with titanium-like elements, reminiscent of the Vivo V40 Lite, an earlier model introduced globally.
The Vivo Y300 is expected to come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display offering Full HD+ resolution at 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. According to teasers, the dual camera set-up on the back panel is likely to be a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary lens. The primary camera is rumoured to use the Sony IMX882 sensor, which excels at detailed portrait shots. For selfies, the Y300 may feature a 32-megapixel front camera, setting it apart from many other models in its range.
The upcoming mid-range smartphone is speculated to be powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with up to 8GB RAM. Further, the phone is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.
The Vivo Y300 offers connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB-C port. Running on FunTouch OS 14, built on Android 14, the device includes stereo speakers and has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It also features an under-display optical fingerprint sensor for secure biometric access.
