Reddit down as app and web users left with dreaded 'server error' message
by Sam Cooper, Matt Atherton · NottinghamshireLiveReddit, the popular chat forum site, has experienced an outage affecting thousands of users who have been met with a 'server error' message. The issue was flagged on Down Detector recently, leaving both desktop and mobile users unable to access the site, reports the Mirror.
Reddit appears to have confirmed it is having problems and has replied to people on X to say: "Yes, we are working on it."
It added that there was a bug in a recent update and they have got a fix and are working on getting their site back up and running.
Reddit is an online community where users share funny, viral and controversial links, pictures and videos. The most notable sub-reddits include /r/AMA ("Ask Me Anything"), /r/AskReddit and /r/Showerthoughts
In the meantime, savvy users have found a workaround to get Reddit working again. Users say if you visit “old Reddit,” the original, no-frills version of the site. You can access it by typing old.reddit.com into the URL bar on a browser and, if you like it, you can set your Reddit preferences to revert to the original design.
