'Amazing' Asda spray that gets rid of mould and mildew 'instantly' for just £1.50
by Emma Gill · NottinghamshireLiveDuring this season, damp and mould can quickly become a problem in homes. Reducing moisture in the air, such as by opening bathroom windows after showering, is key to minimising condensation that can lead to mould.
However, it's inevitable that mould will appear occasionally. This is particularly true in our family bathroom, where teenagers take lengthy showers and without an extractor fan, it's challenging to eliminate excess water.
But when mould does start to appear, there's one particular spray that effectively tackles it. The Astonish Mould and Mildew Blaster Spray, priced at just £1.50 at Asda, removes stains without the need for scrubbing.
It only needs to be left on for a few minutes to work, or longer for stubborn stains. I find the ceiling the hardest to reach, but spraying some of this on the mop helps me access those difficult spots.
This method also prevents the liquid from dripping down and staining clothes or other fabrics. As the product is potent, it should be used in a well-ventilated room, reports the Manchester Evening News.
I always have the bathroom window wide open when using it.
The product has proved invaluable for treating damp patches in the bedroom windows as well, where condensation can often lead to mould. Its versatility is key—it's suitable for a range of surfaces like walls, UPVC window frames, plastic shower curtains, bathroom tiles, grout, silicone sealant, concrete, sinks and plugholes.
Regular use thwarts the persistent mould build-up that once plagued these areas, making the £1.50 spent a wise investment. And it's not just this happy customer raving about the product – the glowing reviews are widespread.
One satisfied Asda customer gushed over the spray's effectiveness: "I was horrified to find mould and mildew on our window sills this morning. After a bit of research, I found this spray which unlike many others, is suitable for various surfaces (ie not just for bathroom tiles/grouting etc) so gave it a go. SO easy to use and absolutely thrilled with the results. Instantly gone. And less than £2? ! My mind is blown! Highly recommend."
Echoing this sentiment, another person shared their experience: "When I moved house I was faced with a mouldy bathroom - mildew up the walls and thick mould in the shower," they said. "Thought I'd be ages scrubbing it but a good blitz of this stuff (left to get on with it for 10 minutes) and all that horrid mould just dissolved, only had to rub the more stubborn stuff with a cloth. It really is a wonder product, and not tested on animals which is a bonus."
Another user chimed in: "We had some mould which occurs on the bathroom ceiling every winter due to lack of ventilation. Usually the job needs painting which takes half the day and effort. I used this product by spraying it onto the ceiling. That was it."
"Within 10 mins the mould disappeared. It was soo good. I wiped it down after with a cloth to get rid of the liquid, however the spray itself did all the work, effortless. Wish I could post before and after pics but can't."
They concluded by saying, "I think our before and after pictures say it all. Maybe you can get some of your own."
