The National Lottery have confirmed a new claim has been placed on the £177m EuroMillions jackpot.

A UK ticket-holder has won an incredible £177,033,699.20 - and, if confirmed, the lucky ticket-holder has immediately become the third biggest National Lottery winner. As reported by the Mirror, they will also become the nineteenth UK winner of a prize worth over £100M and this would be the fourth EuroMillions UK jackpot winner of 2024 so far.

As with all National Lottery winners, Operator Allwyn will now make sure the ticket-holder is taken through the process of validating the winning ticket and paying out the prize as quickly and efficiently as possible. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, the winner is set to become wealthier than singer Harry Styles and heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua - both worth £175 million.

Support offered to winners of massive prizes like this includes access to a financial panel, financial and legal advisors and access to private banking. A Winners’ Advisors team is also on hand to guide new millionaires through the steps of unlocking their new fortunes.

The lucky winner will be met in person by a Winners' Advisor from Lottery operator Allwyn, who will validate their winning ticket before arranging for the prize to be paid out. They are also "on hand for practical advice and emotional support based on years of experience dealing with big National Lottery winners," Allwyn said in a statement.

Big winners also get the chance to rub shoulders with former lottery winners to find out what it is like from someone who has been through the experience and "for first-hand and unique advice on what it is to be a big National Lottery winner", the company said.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said, “We are delighted that we have received a claim and will now ensure the ticket-holder gets all the support they need. This is a truly amazing win, and we will focus on guiding them through the process and helping them to start to enjoy their life-changing win.

“The team here has huge experience of guiding all of our lucky National Lottery winners through the first steps in their journey of embracing their win.”
