Hotel-style duvet with nearly 11,000 five star reviews is 'luxury at a small price'

When was the last time you upgraded your duvet? For most of us, it's the kind of purchase we made a million years ago, and haven't thought about since. But over the years, chances are that duvet has become a lot lumpier and less cosy - so it might be time to invest in a new one.

And if you wanted one with thousands of positive reviews to recommend it, you could look to the Silentnight Hotel Collection Double Duvet, which is available from Amazon. It comes in a single, double, king and super king size, and a 10.5 or 13.5 tog.

And it's not the kind of purchase which will break the bank - a double duvet in a warm 13.5 tog will only set you back £32.65 on Amazon right now. Silentnight has a reputation for quality across its beds, pillows, mattresses and more, and this duvet is no different.

That 13.5 tog means it's perfect for cuddling up in during the colder months, and it's hypoallergenic - so won't make you sneeze or feel itchy in the middle of the night. Best yet, it's machine washable - so you don't have to lug it to the dry cleaners every time it needs a refresh.

And from a staggering 13,289 reviews on Amazon, it has clocked up an impressive 4.7 stars out of 5. "Replaced an old duvet with this one and it does feel like a good quality duvet, similar in quality to the type you get in a hotel," one happy shopper raved.

"I’m loving this duvet so far! Feels really soft and comfortable. Luxury quality for a reasonable price. Can't complain!" a second enthused. And a third was even more effusive, writing: "This duvet feels really luxurious. It is so light but bouncy, it curls right round you, making you feel really snug. I get the best night's sleep under it. Cannot recommend this product highly enough. Have just purchased one for another bed."

However, some shoppers had more critical notes to share. "I found the quality of this duvet excellent, nice and thick and looked great on the bed. However, I was sweating under it every night," one warned - which might be the case if you tend to run hot at night, so you might want to look for a lower tog level. Conversely, another shopper wrote: "It is light and soft but for a 13.5 tog it’s not very warm, ended up having to put throws over it as well" - which shows just how personal duvet heaviness can be.

For an even cheaper buy in a similar tog, Dunelm's Supersoft 13.5 Tog Winter Duvet costs just £18 for the double. Meanwhile, Dusk has an impressive sale on at the moment - bringing the price of its Duck Feather & Down Duvet Collection from £117 down to £75 for the double in 13.5 tog.
