Manufacturer offers drivers 50,000 Tesco Clubcard points if they buy one of their electric cars

The incentive is aiming to encourage more drivers to switch to their electric vehicles

A car manufacturer has offered a number of incentives for drivers to switch to one of its electric cars, including 50,000 Clubcard points. Vauxhall has partnered with retailer Tesco which allows customers to enjoy the points if they buy a new car through a registered retailer.

The offer allows drivers to exchange the Clubcard points for vouchers to be used in Tesco stores, worth £500. Meanwhile, drivers can benefit from Vauxhall's Plug & Go incentive. When buying online, it included a free Octopus Energy Ohme Pro wallbox and installation, reports GB News.

But drivers can instead choose £675 credit for public charging using Octopus Electroverse if they forego the free wallbox. It comes as Vauxhall's Astra Electric, Astra Sports Tourer Electric and Corsa Electric received a new pricing structure to encourage drivers to switch to electric.

James Taylor, managing director of Vauxhall, said: "Our five-year PCP offer on electric models means customers can enjoy equivalent monthly payments with petrol models over four years, while the special edition Corsa Electric YES Edition and Astra Electric Griffin make going electric even more attainable."
