From January to September 2024, a total of 953 fire incidents occurred across Myanmar, resulting in 76 deaths, according to a report released by the Myanmar Fire Services Department. The breakdown of fire types included 147 kitchen fires, 268 accidental fires, 17 spontaneous combustion fires, 352 electrical fires, 61 cases of arson, 62 forest fires, 43 vandalism-related fires, one lightning strike incident, and two cases still under investigation.
