by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveThe UK is set to wake up to a "800 mile snow bomb", according to reports, with the entirety of the British Isles at risk from "extreme" snowfall next week. WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data, shows an extremely snowy day on Thursday November 21.
By 6pm, most of the UK will be blanketed with a carpet of snow the arrival of an enormous frosty weather front stretching from the highest reaches of Scotland, all the way down to the northern tip of Europe, according to media reports in national newspapers.
50cm of snowfall - or 19 inches - is expected in parts of the country - including Aberdeen. Wales will experience 20cm flurries and accumulations, the maps and charts also show - with swathes of the country not spared from the shift to the white stuff.

Jim Dale, the chief meteorologist with British Weather Services, said that this weather front of "very deep snow time" could last as long as a full week. He said: "The board is set the pieces are moving! This one is looking like a full week in the freezer before it relents.
"The weather models will ebb & flow but the latest is spelling a very deep snow time (several inches) for the Midlands & Pennine towns & villages. Scottish hills & mountains go without saying. Traffic dislocation & dangers appear inevitable.
"But it all means nothing for how Christmas may turn out." In the short-term, the Met Office has issued its forecasts for the coming days, spanning Thursday (November 14) into the weekend, Friday (November 15) to Sunday (November 17).
"A grey start for many with some fog patches and a little drizzle in places. Remaining grey across many northwestern areas. However, some bright or sunny spells developing elsewhere. Gentle winds, with temperatures around or a little above average," the Met Office says.
