Highlighting the time-tested India-Russia partnership and his friendship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that India and China have worked out an agreement ensuring that no clashes like the one that happened in Galwan in June 2020 will occur again.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold bilateral talks on Wednesday on the margins of the Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa (BRICS) summit in Russia, in their first structured meeting since the eastern Ladakh border row erupted in May 2020.

Narendra Modi-Xi Jinping meeting: The meeting between Mr. Modi and Mr. Xi will take place in Kazan, the venue for the BRICS summit.

PM Modi and Xi will meet on the sidelines of the summit meeting of BRICS, the foreign secretary said, which is taking place in the Russian city of Kazan. This will be the first meeting since 2020 when ties nosedived after their forces clashed on their disputed frontier.

Details of the agreement that are unofficially available show that Indian and Chinese troops can now patrol within their borders in Depsang Plains and Demchok.
